Embracing Change: Faith like Abraham

Change is inevitable, and it’s often uncomfortable. Abraham’s journey is a powerful reminder of the courage it takes to embrace the unknown (Genesis 12).

When God called Abraham to leave his home and go to a land He would show him, Abraham didn’t have all the details, but he trusted God’s promise. In today’s busy world, we are often required to adapt quickly, whether in our personal lives or businesses.

The fear of the unknown can be paralyzing, but like Abraham and other Heroes of Faith (Hebrews 11), we are called to walk by faith and not by sight. Their faithful stories teach us to trust God to guide us each step of the way.

Every change, big or small, has a divine purpose. Consider your current challenges such as a new job or career path, shifts in relationships or friendships, the unforeseen health changes or the uncertainty about the future.

Rather than resisting, doubting and staying idle, see these changes as opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Each transition brings new dimensions of understanding, unforeseen opportunities and strengthening of faith. This week, reflect on a change you’ve been avoiding. Take a step of faith:

1. Ask God for a sign or confirmation.

2. Seek strength to embrace the unknown.

3. Trust that God is guiding you toward something greater.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, grant us the courage to face the unknown and to trust your purpose and guidance. Help us to see every change as an opportunity for growth and faith-building. May your faithful promise be our anchor, and your holy presence our comfort. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

THE POWER OF THE NAME OF JESUS: A TESTIMONY OF DELIVERANCE

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12

“Have you ever found yourself in a place of darkness, feeling spiritually isolated and helpless? That was exactly where I was, burdened by the weight of my sins. But in that desperate moment, I discovered the transformative power of the Name above all names – Jesus.”

“In a vivid dream, I found myself under attack by the evil one. The struggle seemed endless, and my voice was silenced. But deep within, I knew the only Name that could save me. With every fiber of my being, I cried out, “Lord Jesus!” At first, my voice was lost, but I persisted. And when I finally shouted His Name aloud, the struggle stopped. The evil spirits fled, and I was freed. In that instant, I knew that Jesus not only saves but His Name also holds unparalleled power to save!”

The Bible declares that Jesus is the only Name by which we can be saved! (Acts 4:12). His name holds power to save. When we call upon the Name of Jesus: darkness flees (John 1:5), chains are broken (Psalm 107:14), hope is restored (Romans 5:8) and our victory is secured (1 Corinthians 15:57).

Declaring the Name of Jesus is a declaration of faith, hope, and trust. It’s a reminder that: He is our Rock, Redeemer and Savoir. Satan came to steal me from God’s sheep fold, and in isolation, he would kill and destroy me but Jesus came to my rescue.

If you find yourself in a place of darkness or struggle today, remember the power of the Name of Jesus. Call upon Him. Shout His Name. Trust in His saving power. For in Jesus’ Name only can we find salvation, deliverance, and eternal hope.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Help us to remember the power of His Name and to call upon Him always. May His Name be our rock, our refuge, and our salvation. In Jesus name, amen.

EDIFY

“You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” – Matthew 5:7 (ESV)

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to spot the flaws in others, while ignoring our own? This tendency to judge others while neglecting our own shortcomings is a fundamental human weakness. But there is good news! Jesus offers a transformative solution. Before pointing out the faults of others, we must examine our own lives. Recognize the logs in your own eye – the hidden sins, biases, and flaws that hinder your relationship with God and others.

Instead of judging, Jesus calls us to be our brother’s keeper. In humility, we must care for one another, acknowledging our mutual need for growth and accountability. The church exists to edify and support each member, not to condemn. We don’t rely on human strength; our trust is in God alone. Yet, He works through people to refine and guide us. Embrace the family of believers, and invite correction and encouragement from one another. Let us through humility and accountability grow stronger together, and reflect the love and light of Christ. This is the will of God for us His Church.

Prayer
“Lord, reveal the logs in my own eye. Help me to see myself as You see me. Give me the courage to confront my own flaws and the humility to receive correction from others. May Your love and grace flow through me to uplift and support my brothers and sisters in Christ.”

  1. Reflect on your own life, asking God to reveal areas for growth.
  2. Approach a trusted friend or mentor for constructive feedback.
  3. Offer gracious support and encouragement to someone struggling.
